Class Organization
The course is divided into six levels, from Basic (N4) through Advanced Level 2 (Above N1), enabling students to effectively learn in classes suitable to their level of proficiency and understanding.

KICL also has elective classes available. Please refer to the course curriculum for details.
To understand Japan…
Cultural exchange programs with people reside around KICL and students from colleges and universities in Kyoto will be held periodically.
Some KICL students gain further cultural exchange experience by joining some of the many student social circles and clubs at our sister school, the Kyoto University of Art and Design.
A Japan Culture Day is held once every three months to provide experience in traditional Japanese culture.
Academic Counseling
The teachers of each class will provide academic counseling to their students.
Practice tests for the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students and the Japanese Language Proficiency Test will be given periodically.
For students hoping to continue their studies at a university in art and design related fields, KICL offers a “Basic Art Class,” a course made possible through the comprehensive cooperation of Kyoto University of Art and Design.
