Kyoto Institute of Culture and Language has been involved in Japanese Language education for foreigners since its establishment as Kyoto English Center in 1969. During the last 40 years, a wide variety of people from more than 70 countries around the world came to Japan to stud at KICL. With the founding of the Association for the Promotion of Japanese Language Education in 19889, we received authorization as Japanese language institution. We reorganized as Kyoto International Center of Languages, with our educational goal focusing on Japanese language education in 1994. In April 2004, we were accredited as an incorporated educational institution in the category of miscellaneous schools and reinforced our educational activities as Kyoto Institute of Culture and Language.
