I am a pretty shy person in 1-on-1 conversations, especially online, so I was worried about whether or not I would do well in an online setting. However, Tachizawa-sensei put me at ease. She listened carefully. She gave me time to think about what I wanted to say, and her corrections focused on repeated errors so I could recognize my habits and challenges. She planned lessons that matched my interests and needs, and when my goals changed, she kindly adapted the material. I was so grateful for her hard work and consideration. As someone who does not have a lot of opportunities to talk in Japanese in my job, I felt like I learned a lot of new words and strategies, even with only 30 minutes of class per week. I would recommend this class to anyone who would like to learn in a way that focuses on their goals and connect it to their daily life.

여러 사정이 있어서 일본으로 이주 및 이직을 준비하고 있었습니다.
일본어는 어느 정도 공부했었던지라 준비에 큰 문제가 없을거라 생각했지만,
정작 일본어로 이력서를 쓰고 경력서를 작성하다보니 이 표현이 일본에서 먹히는 표현인지,

The grammar is explained very well on each video and the instructor will give you a full background and reasons behind each sample sentence. Each lesson will make you think and practice so you can understand the topics. I believe with these videos combined with book exercises will definitely improve my advanced Japanese.

The KICL Online conversation course is really good. My teacher and I have a lot of common interests, which lead to instant trust between us. I think they did a really good match in the trial lesson. During the sessions, my teacher always makes the lesson interesting and knows the parts in which I struggle, so she pushes the situation far enough for me to learn, but not so much so it's frustrating. The only thing I think this course lacks, is time, since I find the 30 min lessons quite short. I always feel like we just started talking and the time is up already! But it is always fun and because it's short, it doesn't feel like a chore. The feedback is also always on time and SO PRECISE! It helps me a lot! I would really recommend this course to people who want to improve their Japanese.

會報名KICL線上會話課程的原因有幾個：
1.想保持日文語感，持續練習。
2.工作雖然會用到日文，或是偶爾會跟日本朋友聊天，但不論是客戶或是朋友，都不會糾正我錯誤的日文文法或發音，常常有是否用錯了的疑惑。
3.在台灣找不到合適的高階日文課程，台灣通常都只有N1-N5的考試班，一旦考完N1之後，除了商用日文就沒有其他選擇。但商用日文比較偏重敬語，工作上光是將公司內部的想法清楚表達給日方就很困難了，日方也深知這點，若非嚴肅場合ます型通常就很夠用了。
4.一對一的家教老師不見得有實際在日本上過班的實戰經驗，有商業背景的老師需要費心打聽。

由於COVID-19 的關係，看到KICL宣布要做線上課程就馬上下訂了會話課。KICL會話課的優點有：
1.主題可以自訂或請老師訂。
無論是工作上實際遇到的報告，或是輕鬆聊天、針對時事討論都可以。
2.老師時間掌握良好，會確實給予回饋。
一開始覺得30分鐘太短，但實際上課會發現剛剛好，不會太燒腦又能吸收教學內容。在字彙、文法、內容、發音等等，老師都會給予建議與糾正。
3.用日文解釋日文，學習日文慣用詞與語感。
比起坊間用中文解釋，我更喜歡老師用簡單的日文解釋，並且學會日本人在某些情境下慣用詞。例如：ように與ために都是為了。工作場合下，希望是群體常識下的想法，因此會使用客觀的ように。而強調自我意識時使用ために。這是在台灣上課無法體會到的語感。

當然上線上課程也不是沒有缺點，缺點如下：
1.老師不會逼你學習，需要自動自發。
因為沒有課後作業，上課被老師糾正過的內容，需要自己主動再多練習發音、多背單字、多記文法。

那麼KICL的線上會話課程適合什麼樣的人呢？
1.期待增加日文語感的人
2.在家也想學道地日文發音的人
3.一週30分鐘，適合不想太燒腦、微進修的上班族
4.在台灣找不到合適高階日文課程的人

KICL 的文法講座內容非常豐富。每次課程都會從文法整理開始，老師們整理的簡報清楚明瞭，可以在介紹完文法後，按下暫停抄寫筆記。接著老師會提供各式各樣的例句，句中也會帶到京都的景點或是行事等文化內容，相當有趣。就像是平常的線上課程一樣（只是沒有辦法馬上提出問題）。除了可以從文法整理和例句聽讀/練習中學習，課程也針對每項文法提供簡單的小考題，做完就可以馬上對答案，看看自己是不是確實聽懂。無論是準備日檢，或只是自己加強文法，都非常推薦這個文法講座。
The online lesson provides an affordable and systematic way to learn or review grammar points before the JLPT. Each clip contains a clear explanation of a grammar and it's easy to take notes for later review. You can pause and write down your notes to organize and make sure you have basic understanding of the grammar. The teacher will then give you several sample sentences in which the traditions of Kyoto are introduced. After listening to/reading the sentences, you'll have an opportunity to make your sentence in the last part of each session as a practice. Overall, I like how the videos are composed to highlight the key points of a grammar and give you a little practice. Also, the lesson features little quizzes so you can refresh your memory and check how much you've learned. Highly recommended to those who need a refresher before the test or just want to dig into each grammar to check if you still got it right!

Le format des cours de conversation en ligne convenait parfaitement à mes besoins et surtout à mon emploi du temps ! Au fur et à mesure des leçons, j’ai pris confiance en moi, et j’ai senti mes progrès tant pour m’exprimer que pour comprendre la langue. À chaque fois que je commettais des erreurs, Takaya sensei prenait le temps de me corriger et de m’expliquer l’utilisation de telle ou telle expression dans un japonais facile à comprendre. Nous avons pu discuter de thèmes divers et variés qui m’ont permis de me débrouiller dans la vraie vie. Par exemple : comment gérer les rendez-vous avec la maîtresse de ma fille à l’école primaire, ou encore comment mener des interviews en japonais.

I am planning to come to Japan for Japanese study. Before that I had couples of online courses but only can learn the non-conversational Japanese. I know the hardness part of learning Japanese is actually speak in practice, as a result, I found KICL conversation course from Google and had a free trial class. The teacher is very nice and kind, the class is useful so I decided to continue the class. Moreover, I also choose KICL as my future Japanese learning school so I look forward the class starts in April 2023 and meet my online teacher Ms Adachi in person!

I am really enjoying my Japanese conversation lessons so far. It’s been over a decade since I took Japanese lessons (since I was in college), and most of my interaction with Japanese language has just been through watching TV shows and dramas. I majored in Japanese, but since graduating from college I’ve felt like I haven’t had much of an opportunity to use my Japanese or improve my language skills.

A few months ago I was searching for Japanese lessons near me (I’m based near San Francisco, CA). I wasn’t able to find any lessons or classes that were suited to my needs (I’m fairly advanced in speaking, but much less so in reading and writing). I wanted to have a more formal experience and a regular schedule while still having fun. After a google search, I tumbled upon KICL online lessons, and I’m very glad that I did!

The KICL lessons are all custom made. At the beginning of my lesson package my teacher and I talked about why I was taking lessons and what my goals were. I really didn’t have any specific goals, I just wanted to speak Japanese every week and get feedback on what I could improve on. I have the opportunity each week to tell my teacher some things I want to talk about or work on. If I run out of ideas, she has prompts which are always helpful.

I look forward to my lessons every week, and I feel like my teacher really listens to my lesson requests. She also gives me valuable feedback (on pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, general understanding, etc.) after each lesson. I really like this aspect of the lessons, because it gives me something to look back on and see how I’ve improved over the weeks. I will definitely be continuing my lessons for the foreseeable future!
